  • Hello…

I’m a newbie, so please forgive me if the answer to my question is obvious. Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer my question and to everyone who contributes to this useful forum.

I’m primarily using WordPress as an RSS feed tool. I’ve installed WordPress v2.0.1 on my server and it seems to be working well. My issue is this:

When I go into Dashboard and create a new post, publishing the post adds it to my RSS feed, just as it should. But, when viewing the feed in a news reader, the hyperlinks – the title, the “Read more…? and the “Open in browser? links – each link back to the blog itself, or more accurately, they link to the specific post on the blog. I don’t want this to happen. I want the links, or at least the “Read more…? link, to link to another page altogether.

Put another way, I want to be able to draft and publish a post on a certain topic, for a person to be able to then access that topic by way of an RSS feed reader, and for the person clicking the link(s) in the news reader to be taken to a third-party site concerning the information on the topic rather than back to my blog.

I can see the <link> line in the XML code generated for the RSS feed, but I can’t figure out how to change it within WordPress when composing a post. Please help!
