    Hi,

When I make a new user group and set "author" as role affiliation all goes well. But when I want to change the role in "editor" or in none the original role stays where it is. So i can not emty it again.

    Can you please fix this?

    Thanks

    Hello there,

I set up my site this weekend and work under WP 3.8 and FF 26 and have also observed identical behaviour.

1° Role cannot be removed anymore
As soon as the roles are assigned, it seems not possible to remove them anymore.

I tested with a new role (test-role) and a new group (test-group) which were not in use on the blog.

    2° View doesn't refresh
When a role is assigned, once update group is pressed, the table content is not refreshed.

Issue 1° is IMHO a critical bug for this plugin. It would be essential to correct it.

    My installed plugins:

    - P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler)
    - Polylang
    - Akismet
    - bbPress
    - BulletProof Security
    - Quick Event Manager
    - Simple Custom Post Order
    - User Access Manager
    - Wp Mail Smtp
    - Wp Overview Lite
    - WPtouch Mobile Plugin

Kind regards and happy new year!

I'm having the same problems. The role affiliation feature is completely f*cked up.

    1. I deleted a role from the system and it still shows up as a role affiliation for several of my user groups.

    2. When I edit a user group the role affiliation check boxes that I previously selected and saved are deselected! Except for editor, author, contributor and subscriber, which are always selected even when I want them to be deselected!

The way the fubar'd role affiliation feature seems to work is as follows:

    1. If you select a role to affiliate with a user group the role becomes affiliated forever and cannot be removed -- even if the role is removed from the system.

    2. The Edit User Group screen will always display role affiliations for custom roles you have added to the system as DESELECTED -- even if you have previously selected them.

    3. The Edit User Group screen will always display role affiliations for standard roles (e.g. editor, author, contributor and subscriber) you have added to the system as SELECTED -- even if you have previously deselected them in an attempt to remove the affiliations.

I have this same issue. Is this seriously a 2 month old bug that hasn't been fixed or is there a plugin conflict I should be looking for.

    Same issue here too.

I've accessed the database using phpMayadmin and located and deleted the relevant row entry in the table ~uam_accessgroup_to_objectHide.

    - object_id - will be the 'role' the group is affiliated too
    - object_type - will read role
    - group_id col will be the id of your user group

Doesn't fix the problem - but does allow you to undo the affiliation.

Its a minor change but its a live project take a back up of the table beforehand of course.

I noticed that the column object_id is not big enough to store some custom roles with big names. Maybe that's the reason..

Yes, i can confirm the problem with the table. after setting the size for object_id to 30 my custom user roles works. also all user roles added from bbpress. it's only foobar.
