Changing Recontre>Profile settings causes them to disappear on the front end.

When changing Recontre>Profile settings to add or remove categories or selections, after a couple of changes, the entire category ceases to appear on the front end.
During one such episode I removed a language, and that fixed the problem for 3 categories. Next, I made another couple of changes to options, and the problem is back.
How can changes be made without sacrificing front end display?
What causes this to happen in the first place? Is there some naming convention or other workaround to avoid the problem?

I see. That did fix the problem. I hadn’t noticed that button because it is there only intermittently.
I notice that on many changes (revising selection options for example) the button doesn’t appear, and yet the changes are applied and the options remain visible in the front end.
There must be certain circumstances under which the button is required, yet not for other circumstances.
Still, now I know to always check to see if that button has appeared if there is a problem.

PS. A bit more info, after deleting one selection option, this problem recurred (no display on front end). I checked the top of the page but there was no button there. I refreshed the page, the button appeared. I clicked it and the front end display returned.
