# Changing permalinks

 * Hi,
 * I would like to change my permalinks so they don’t include word product or catergory-
   product in my url. I’ve tried to change that before but without any sucess.

 * Got it. But then you’ll have /signed-prints/signed-prints/whatever
 * As long as you get rid of the category signed prints you can do that.
 * Know that you should add a 301 redirect to any changed URL. Unless this is a 
   new website and you’re still in development. This would only apply to older websites
   that have been indexed for awhile.
 * Go into SETTINGS > PERAMALINKS >

 * There’s a plugin called 301 Redirect or like me, I have my own redirects in my
   cPanel or htaccess. All a matter of what you’re comfy doing.
