# Changing Permalink Structures

 * I did something stupid and started a blog using a numerical archive system, and
   now I’d like to change it so that the post title is part of the URL for SEO reasons.
   Is there any WordPress plugins that anyone knows of that could switch it without
   sending Googlers to invalid pages? Maybe some sort of redirector to the correct
   page?

 * Not as such, no. However, I do have a few comments on your idea here…
 * Google and other search engines don’t care about the URLs. The URL is simply 
   irrelevant to modern search engines. Having proper semantic content and quality
   markup that validates is so much more important than the URL that it’s not even
   worth considering what the URL looks like. Not for SEO purposes.
 * In the specific case of Google, however, you can use a Google Sitemaps plugin
   to ensure that Google knows the correct URLs of all your pages, even if they 
   change. You’ll also want to sign up to Google Webmaster Tools and claim your 
   site: [http://www.google.com/webmasters/](http://www.google.com/webmasters/)
