Changing page width

    @saramayshrz

    I’m using the Pinboard template and I’d like to change the width of the main content section, I’d like to narrow it a bit. How can I narrow the width? Is there an easy way?

    I’m a very basic wordpress user and would greatly appreciate detailed instructions in the responses.

    Here’s my website: http://www.saramaysspecialties.com

    It sounds like you’ll need to make code.

    there is no easy way; you will need to edit the style.css of the theme and adjust the width;

    because your chosen theme is flexible/responsive, this might get quite complex.
    either create a child theme http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes for hte chnages, or use the theme’s custom style option.

    for those kind of general formatting problems, try to use a browser tool such as Firefox’ add-on Firebug or Chrome’s inspection tool to identify which styles you need to edit.

    a good knowledge of css is essential to make those kind of changes.
