I recently switched my domain from http to https

I am now getting some errors in Google Search console for my media links, and this is apparently because I need to switch my Media Statics Redirect URL from http to https

    Is this right?

So how can I do it? I found the link in the settings section of my WordPress dashboard, but it does not seem to be editable.

Awesome! Both Blubrry and RawVoice podcast statistics services support HTTPS.

You may have other issues with SSL and iTunes. Though iTunes supports HTTPS, it is not fully supported. Godaddy SSL certificates require a special intermediate chain file to be used for compatibility. SSL certificates from letsencrypt.org are not supported at all. iTunes limitations exist because their infrastructure is built using Java, Java is behind on keeping up with root SSL certs (easiest way to explain the problem).

Can I ask where you got your SSL certificate? It would be easier to share the URL to your site, but I understand if you do not wish to share that information.

I actually did not figure it out. I can edit the Redirect URL by turning off the Blubrry account connection, but as soon as I reconnect my site to the Blubrry, it loads the Redirect URL from Blubrry, and overwrites the https back to http.

    Any way to fix this?

I got my ssl cert from Comodo.

I gave the site a deeper look and found an episode. The media URL needs to be https://, then the statistics redirect will use https://. If the media URL is http:// then the redirect will use http://. I did a quick test, looks like your soundcloud media files can use the https:// without issue, but not all podcast hosting services support https so others reading this please check before making such a change.

If you have a lot of past episodes to update, I would suggest going to the Tools menu in PowerPress, there is a search and replace tool where you can literally enter http:// in the find and https:// in the replace. It is a multi-step process, I suggest leaving the option checked that verifies the URLs, that way if the media URL is inaccessible via https:// it will not change it.

That tool is awesome! I didn’t know it was there.

I tried it out and we will see if works… the audio files seem to be playing fine, so now I will see if the errors disappear in Google Search Console.

    Thanks!
