Changing login location

  • Presently I log into wordpress using the meta area “log in”. How do I delete all the other stuff that appears in this widget.

    Or is there a better way to log in.

    Although I am using wordpress the site is constructed as a web site not a blog.

  • Sounds like you are still using the Default Widgets.

    If so go to Dashboard >> Appearance > Widgets

    Drag and drop a Widget that you like into the Sidebar and that usually causes all the default Widgets go go away. Caution you will need to add back the ones that you need.

    There are some other programming methods that can also get rid of the sidebar but they are more difficult.

    You could copy paste the whole login form into a text widget as well. Even change the hidden redirect field to redirect to front of site instead of admin after login.

    <form name="loginform" id="loginform" action="http://YOURDOMAIN.com/wp-login.php" method="post">
    		<label>Username<br />
    		<input type="text" name="log" id="user_login" class="input" value="" size="20" tabindex="10" /></label>
    		<label>Password<br />
    		<input type="password" name="pwd" id="user_pass" class="input" value="" size="20" tabindex="20" /></label>
    	<p class="forgetmenot"><label><input name="rememberme" type="checkbox" id="rememberme" value="forever" tabindex="90" /> Remember Me</label></p>
    	<p class="submit">
    		<input type="submit" name="wp-submit" id="wp-submit" class="button-primary" value="Log In" tabindex="100" />
    		<input type="hidden" name="redirect_to" value="http:/YOURDOMAIN.com/wp-admin/" />
    		<input type="hidden" name="testcookie" value="1" />
