Changing image background on each page

Hi there,
I’m new at wordpress and I’m trying to customise the Platform theme. I’d like to change the background image for each page but I can’t find any clear post about it. It seems like one can do it using custom fields and adding some php scripts somewhere else, but I can’t find any custom fields in the edit panel!
Anyone can help me?
