# Changing Hosting Around

 * This is kind of a strange problem, so feel free to ask me questions if it doesn’t
   make sense:
    I have WordPress installed and working with a HostGator.com hosting
   account on a HostGator domain name. Let’s call it “domainA.com”. I bought a domain
   name from Godaddy, “domainB.com”, and would like to use my existing WP install
   on HostGator and stop using domainA.com for this WordPress install. I also have
   a second HostGator account with another domain name “domainC.com”, that I installed
   wordpress on. I’d now like to use domainA.com with my WordPress install on domainC.
   com. Basically, I want the site currently at domainA.com to be at domainB.com,
   and the site at domainC.com to be located at domainA.com. So far, I’ve changed
   the Nameserver on domainB.com to the HostGator hosting associated with domainA.
   com, but I’m a little lost as to what to do next. Should I just change the “Site
   URL” on my WordPress installs? I’ve done a domain change a number of times, but
   it’s always been within a single web host and domain registration and I’m not
   super-familiar with the way HostGator works in this case.

 * Yeah, this is definitely a bit confusing, but you can break it down to just a
   few important factors:
 * * The domain you want to use must be pointed to the proper hosting account. This
   is normally as simple as applying the appropriate nameservers for the hosting
   provider in question.
    * The hosting account must be setup to use the domain 
   name that you’ve directed to it. In other words, it needs to know that you sending
   domain X to it rather than some other domain. * The WordPress settings need to
   have the correct path in both the “WordPress address” and “Site address” settings.
   These two are usually the same and normally just the domain name that you’re 
   using for the site.
 * So, you said that domainB.com is using the HostGator nameservers. That’s step
   one. Now, you need to make sure that the hosting account at HostGator is setup
   to display a site for that domain. If you’re not sure how to do that or you want
   to check that it’s setup correctly, contact their Support team to help out. Once
   you’re sure it’s setup properly, confirm the two settings in WordPress are set
   for domainB.com, and that should be it.

 * Okay, that’s exactly what I thought. If I have any more issues, I’ll repost. 
   Sorry that was such a complicated issue. My client apparently set up all these
   hosting accounts in the most convoluted way possible, haha. Thanks for your help!
