# Changing from temporary URL

 * Hello helpful wordpress users.
 * I’m another newbie when it comes to wordpress.
 * I purchased a URL and hosting with ecohosting and chose to the 1 click install
   option they provided for wordpress. I had already created a website for this 
   URL using weebly, so in order to keep it running I chose the option of using 
   a temporary url while creating the wordpress website.
 * The temporary address is [http://217.199.187.63/cvupgrade.com](http://217.199.187.63/cvupgrade.com)
   and I now want to change it to [http://www.cvupgrade.com](http://www.cvupgrade.com)
   however I have yet been unable to do so.
 * If I change it in general settings I get a 404 error page or a ‘site has not 
   been published to this url’ page. I get the same error if I edit to functions.
   php to point to the url I want. Both the back office and home page only work 
   using the temp url.
 * Could this be something to do with using weebly previously? which file actually
   makes the websites point to a specific url? I have deleted all files and tried
   to reinstall but that didn’t work either.
 * Any help would be appreciated.

 * Can anyone help me? I’ve searched for hours and there doesn’t seem to be a solution.
   This isn’t just a case of changing the url because I know how to do that, but
   whenever I do I always get the 404 site not published page.
 * I think this has something to do with using another website builder and switching
   over to wordpress hasn’t happened smoothly.
