  • Guys. I have changed the footer content (address and phone number details) on the referenced website page many times and I cannot work out how to have the changes show on the website (the details you can see are the old ones). I have changed the text in the footer.php source code but it wont stick. Tearing my hair out! I have followed all the blog suggestions and cannot resolve. Can anyone help me make the change (my original website designer is unavailable to me)? Cheers Lincoln.

    This is 100% theme dependent.

Your site uses a child theme. If a footer.php file exists in the child theme (The Practice Child), that’s the one you should change instead, not the one in the parent theme (The Practice Parent).

It’s also possible the text can be editted in the theme’s configuration panel, without editing any PHP file… perhaps the text you edited is only a fallback text which is only used if nothing has been entered in the configuration panel. So as long as something exists in the configuration panel, this fall-back text you edited will never be displayed.

This is only a guess though.

As your site uses a commercial/custom theme, we’re unable to install the theme and help you sort this out. A quick search shows the theme used to be sold on ThemeForest, but the listing page shows the message “This item is no longer available”.

The theme’s developer or the agency that used the theme to build the site for you should be in the best position to help you, as we don’t have casses to the theme at all.

If you’re unable to reach your theme’s developer and your agency, and the above tips don’t work for you, you’ll have to get hold of a developer who can login to your site and sort this out for you: https://jobs.wordpress.net/

    Good luck!
