Changing Font Color Changes Family Instead

  • Not sure when this happened, but now, when I try to change the font color of certain words of a post (or page) instead of changing the color, the font family changes. This happens using the “advanced” wysiwyg “select text color” dropdown. When I look at the HTML tab, this span is put in instead of one for font color:

    <span style=”font-family: mceinline;”> text I highlighted in here </span>

    I’ve disabled every plugin and this is still a problem. Every color causes the same issue. If I type my own HTML for the color by hand, it works fine. Everything else in the wysiwyg works fine.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

  • Just wanted to bump this post, as I am having the exact same issue. No problem if I work in the html editor, but the visual editor inserts

    <span style=”font-family: mceinline;”>

    instead of a font colour. I have managed to isolate the issue to Safari though, in Firefox everything seems fine.
