# changing domain name Parse error:(Please Help)

 * Ok so my website was built on an IP address on my wordpress site i couldn’t change
   the URL to the new site because it was grey’ed out. I saw an article where to
   change the WP site url & WP_home Url to what you want all i simple did was erase
   the IP and type in my official domain name and now i get this error
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘WP_HOME’’ (T_STRING), expecting ‘,’ or‘)’
   in /srv/users/serverpilot/apps/mixmantreblesite/public/wp-config.php on line 
   24
 * here is what the wp_config looks like for those two sections
 * define(‘WP_SITEURL’, [http://mixmantreble.com/](http://mixmantreble.com/);
    define(‘
   WP_HOME’, [http://mixmantreble.com/](http://mixmantreble.com/));
 * please let me know what if anything that i did wrong i really need to get this
   fixed!

 * The error is the missing ) on the WP_SITEURL line, but regardless just remove
   those two lines and make the change in the database instead: [https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database](https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database)
 * The reason you can’t change those values in the settings is because the lines
   you added to wp-config.php override them and are thus only meant as temporary“
   fixes.”
 * Removing the lines and changing the URLs in the database will allow you to use
   the settings again.
