    Hi,

The server address changed where my blog was hosted, and now if i try to access the blog, it says 'Error establishing a database connection'.

I am just looking for a way to change the database server.

If you want to have a look at the implementation, it is http://www.tech-trip.com

    Thanks,
    Reza

The host didn't supply you with a URL to the server's IP?

Oh, they did and I have the server address.

    Situation is something like this:

    1) Application is deployed, but the database server is old
    2) I want to now change the database server address, just want to know where to change.

Okay, because when my host changes server IP's they always point the URL to the new IP. That's why I don't understand why you don't just point the the URL rather than the IP. Wouldn't it point to the correct IP regardless of what they do?

Yea, but initially I had pointed it to the IP address which held my databases.

Now, we've changed it to an individual NS for databases, which automatically will resolve to the ip address which holds my database.

But, the issue still remains. How do I change the database server address now?

the database server address is in wp-config.php. The place where you enter your user, pass and database name.
