# Changing Background Colour & Header Colour

 * I want to change the background colour of my site: [manorgeek.com](http://manorgeek.com)
   but when I change the colour in CSS it doesn’t seem to work. I’m using a template
   from theme forest called newgen.
 * Please help!
 * I am a newb so please be gentle.

 * Hi, using Firebug, I added !important to your CSS background color declaration
   and it worked.
 *     ```
       body.custom-background {
           background-color: #f7da02 !important;
       }
       ```
