I’ve looked for a solution, have not found one yet. I’m working on a real estate page for some clients and it uses the Author page heavily. I was wondering if I can change it to say Agent instead of Author?
For example, when a visitor wants read about the Agents in the company, they get to a page that pulls all the contact info and bio info from the Edit User section in the Admin. Pretty standard…however, the title tag for the page is “Joe Schmoe, Author at Mountain Home Real Estate.” I would love to change this to read “Agent at….”
Something tells me this will not be easy?!
Usually this involves editing the PHP file that is the template for that page. Something like authors.php or similar. If you can locate it, a simple find and replace of the word “author” for the word “agent” should suffice.
Since you did not mention what theme you are using, I would also recommend contacting the original theme author for support, or check to see if they provide a help forum of some kind. Most theme authors are willing to help, and you’ll get much better (more specific) advice than you get here.
This is more of a general WordPress forum.
Yes, I looked here and didn’t see anything that stood out. I’m not a php ninja, by any means. However, I can usually pick my way through and find something that looks like what I want and research it. Not on this one. I figure this is not theme specific necessarily…maybe I’m wrong. I have never used the Author feature as much as I have with this site so that’s why I’m lost.
Ha! I was able to override it with my SEO plugin…thanks though!
What is the SEO plugin you used, for anyone reading this that wants to do the same thing?
Glad you got it figured out.
