# Changing admin username, super-admin gone!…

 * Wanted to change default admin username, post install (yeah I know!).. shouldve
   known better!!! Followed instructions about editing the username in wp_users 
   database, did so, logged in ok with new username, but noticed super-admin had
   disappeared.
 * Changed username back to original, and super-admin re-appeared, is there another
   database field I need to change also so they sync? Have looked through various
   db via phpMyAdmin, but cannot find…

 * Under the site_meta table look for the site_admins field. The username is stored
   there.

 * Doh.. did look in that table, but scanned over it as it contianed other info,
   unlike the other field which just had the username!!..

 * Just changed it there, and still the same.. changed it in both places, lets me
   login but doesnt show super-admin or multisites…

 * Why not just keep the admin user and make them have a super strong password? 
   Then make another user with the username you want, and give *them* super admin
   access.
 * really, removing admin doesn’t help much, and with it gone, it’s only a matter
   of time before someone tries to signup with that username.
