# Changes Remain After Deactivating

 * After deactivating the plugin the admin menu changes are still displaying and
   I can’t seem to get them back with cache clearing etc.

 * In the free version, this is technically impossible because WP builds up the 
   admin menu dynamically instead of (for example) loading it from the database.
   So the plugin can only edit the menu on the fly, which only works while it’s 
   active.
 * In the Pro version, _some_ changes could persist after deactivation because the
   Pro version includes a role editor, and role capabilities are something that 
   WP already stores in the database; the plugin just edits them. Enabling/disabling
   capabilities can change the visibility of some admin menu items.
 * Which version are you using, and what changes are still displaying? If it’s only
   includes things like certain menus being visible (or hidden), that could be related
   to role capabilities. If it’s something more than that, it could be that there’s
   actually another active plugin that’s applying those changes – try deactivating
   other plugins as a test.
