Changed WordPress Folder Title and Now I Have a 404

    I’m using MAMP and changed my directory folder from, “wordpress”, to a custom name and now when I go to my website, I get a 404 from the theme I’m using in my WordPress installation so my site can still be visited but it’s no longer at the normal Home Page.

    You can not change the folder name after the site is installed. All of the links and urls point to that folder name.

    You can use a utility like “FindReplaceDB2.php” to change all of the database entries to update the URL.

    Or just change it back to wordpress
