Changed widgets for homepage but not for posts/pages – why?

  • Hi there,

I’m a bit stuck. My blog is using Sahifa custom theme. Earlier on my page you couldn’t see the sidebar or the footer – they’d just stopped appearing but I don’t know why as I’d not changed anything.
I went to the widgets section, to the sidebar, and removed the social widget from appearing. Then reloaded the home page and it was back to normal – the sidebar was displaying correctly as well as the footer.

However its not fixed throughout the site – if I click on a post or page again it doesn’t display the sidebar or footer. Does anyone have any idea why? I thought by changing the widgets it would make the changes for all pages/posts.

You can see the homepage here – Footy Blog and if you view a post you can see the problem, or just click here – Beckham.

Thanks for any help, I’m sure there must be an easy way to resolve this issue.

I’m sorry but as you are using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s vendors. Try switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to confirm that it is a theme-specific problem.

Thanks for the reply esmi, and no problem – I have tried but no response so far.

I realise its probably not wordpress’ problem but mine/the theme’s, but something else has happened which I think could be wordpress specific.

I made some changes and now when I go to the theme’s control panel (Tie panel) and make changes, when I save it doesn’t actually update the site at all. Have tried clearing the cache etc.

    Any idea why?

That’s definitely a theme issue – not a WordPress core one.
