Changed user name at wordpress.com, now my site is offline

  • I’m panicked. My site is no longer visible after I changed my user name while I was working on another blog at wordpress.com. I don’t even know where to begin fixing it…

this forum here is for WordPress.org and cannot help with WordPress.com problems.

    have you asked at http://en.forums.wordpress.com/

    Is the affected site thinblueflorida.com?

    Is it a wordpress.org site? Self-hosted using wordpress.org software?
If so, is it running the jetpack plugin?

http://www.thinblueflorida.com/ still has DNS working, so that’s okay.

If that;s your host, you’re on http://www.1and1.com/ and you should ask them why your site is down. Traceroutes are timing out, which is very much not a WP issue.

    alchymyth,

    TBF is a wordpress.org site, though I have a wordpress.com account, too.

    Rev. Voodoo,

affected site is thinblueflorida.com. It is a self-hosted site, through 1and1 with wordpress.org software. I was running a Jetpack plug-in.

Jetpack is goofy – and with it integrating with .COM, I was musing as to whether it could cause a crash

but @ipstenu has found things that I do not understand – I would follow up on her advice!

Okay, 1 and 1 is having server problems, sooooo what I had done has nothing to do with my site being down–supposedly. I won’t be convinced until it comes back up. Thanks for trying to help!
