Several years ago I installed wordpress on olddomain in the root folder

a year later bought a newdomain and set up a redirect so that it redirected to olddomain

Then three days ago decided to officially switch the site to the newdomain and all seemed to go well except it been three days and the oldomain still appears, sometimes,…

    here’s what we did..

Removed the redirect, and while we waited for the server to think about it, we…

logged into olddomain wordpress admin and changed the WordPress Address (URL) and the Site Address (URL) to newdomain

Logged into hosting account and pointed the newdomain to the same root folder as the olddomain

had to wait a few minutes for servers to catch up but we were able to login to newdomain fairly quickly…

reset Permalinks (cause it seems like that’s what everyone suggests)

found and fixed a few internal links that had been hard-coded

and waited for the dns servers around the world to reset…

three days later the oldomain still appears, sometimes,…

    for instance….

mouse over a link and the path shows as newdomain but click on it and it goes to oldomain

next time the path shows as newdomain and when I click on it and it goes to newdomain

sharing a link to the site on facebook shows oldomain

I checked the database options table to make sure that the siteurl and home says newdomain and it does

I am able to login to newdomain

why would the oldomain appear randomly?

    Suggestions?

or is it just a waiting game? ((it’s been three days?!))

    new site url is http://centraloregontrailhorse.com
