Changed the Permalinks Rules, Now Nothing Works

  • Hi there, i’m new to the forum, i’ve just signed in because something strange just happend with my blog.

Originally, the permalinks was configured for “www.xxxx.com/?p=2043”, and i wanted to try another format, like day and name of the post.

So, in the configuration page i changed the option and saved, the page reloaded saying that the changes were saved, then i tried to visit the site to check if everything was alright… Found out it wasn’t.

A “Internal Server Error” page appears now, instead of the homepage, and worst, in ANY page, even the admin-panel, so, if was really the permalinks the problem, i can’t changed it back.

I’ve searched for the .htaccess file and didn’t find it nor, can upload one to the root directory.

I’m really getting kind desesperated, so, if anyone can help me, i would bem very thakful.

    Anyway, thanks.

  • Use a different ftp application and delete the .htaccess file.

Hi again, i’ve tried like six others ftp applicantions and none of them allowed me to delete the .htaccess from root.

And, another question. Simply remove the file will make the site come back to normal?
