Changed site URL setting and now can’t access Dashboard or site
I’m locked out of my dashboard and site because I put an incorrect URL into the “URL” setting in the Dashboard. I would really appreciate any help, as I can’t get anywhere near the site.
WP is installed on a remote server, but without a domain name associated with the account. I’ve been using a URL based on the IP number instead of a domain name. (The real, eventual domain name needs to point to another existing site for now. When the WordPress site is ready to launch, we’ll point the domain name to it.)
Under “Settings”, I had put the current IP-based URL:
Everything was working fine.
But then I decided to try changing that Setting, putting in the domain name that eventually will be pointed to the site (www.mojomom.com. Mistake!
I realized a minute later that this was a bad idea, since things started to break right away. But now I can’t get back into the Dashboard to fix it! I’m locked out, presumably because everything is pointing to addresses based on http://www.mojomom.com that don’t exist.
What can I do? Any help will be much appreciated!
