 * Don;t ask why I did this because I don’t know.
I was in Settings > General Settings
and in the section called WordPress Address (URL) i added a forward slash home
at the end of the line: So, [http://www.walkington-life.co.uk](http://www.walkington-life.co.uk)
   became [http://www.walkington-life.co.uk/home](http://www.walkington-life.co.uk/home)
as a result I cannot login to my site with the usual [http://www.walkington-life.co.uk/wp-admin](http://www.walkington-life.co.uk/wp-admin)
 * I’ve changed the address and I can’y find the server. Whereas if I type [http://www.walkington-life,co.uk/home](http://www.walkington-life,co.uk/home)
I do get the homepage but nothing works.
 * Any suggestions that allow me to login as admin would be gratefully accepted.
I’ll deal with my stupidity latter.
    Cheers keith

 * You can fix these directly in the database following this guide: [https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database](https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_URL_directly_in_the_database)
 * You’ll find phpMyAdmin in your hosting account’s control panel.

 * Thanks James for your reply. I did find this when searching the documentation,
but unfortunately my 1&1 host control panel phpadmin does not seem to follow
the conventions listed i.e. wp_options. In fact I can’t find any reference to
   wp tables at all.
 * Would I be able to restore from my dropbox backup using ftp?
 * Thanks again for your comment.

 * Look for a table named [anything]_options. More than likely, your table prefix
was randomized during installation, so the “wp” bit doesn’t apply.

 * Thanks James I found a table called dmleysthf_options and there it was and I’ve
managed to successfully change the URL back to the correct address and everything
in this world is fine and beautiful. Job done.
Thanks for taking the time James,
   it’s much appreciated.
