• I was being hosted for free for 10 years, then had to switch to a new server. Now, I can login to my blog, but end up at a dead-end error page, which has been stripped of theme and categories, with no admin access. I can’t contact anyone at wordpress to help me login and figure out what’s happening.

  • We cannot help you directly with your login. Asking us for the login and password to a site is like asking Microsoft to give you the password to a random Windows laptop. Did you transfer your site to the new server or did your hosts?

My host transferred it, and he hasn’t been responding to my emails. I’ve been trying to connect through a site from my history, beginning with https://admin.logueit.com/ — should i be trying to enter from somewhere else?

Sounds like your hosts didn’t do a good job. They probably don’t know how to correctly transfer a WordPress site. Do you still have access to the old site or a copy of your database? What about theme & plugins – do you have copies of those?

Thank you for your responses. Luckily, my host just responded finally this morning, so he is taking a look at it. he assured me that everything was preserved (categories, content, etc.) and it would all pop back up once i select a new theme. he gave me a copy of the database but i haven’t accessed it yet.

I still am unable to access my site. My contact who migrated the site wrote:

    “you should login on http://blog.joshuaberman.net/wp-admin
All your content is in there”

but i cannot get in, and when i click on “forgot password” the new password does not arrive in my email. the guy who wrote the above will not respond to tell me what U/P he used to get in, and i seem stuck without that. any other routes you suggest?

    Hi,

Assuming that you have working cPanel details, following tutorials would be helpful to reset the dashboard username and password.

    http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-change-your-wordpress-username/

    http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-reset-a-wordpress-password-from-phpmyadmin/

You can change WordPress Dashboard username and password from database through phpMyAdmin. In order to access phpMyAdmin, you must have cPanel details. If you do not have access of cPanel, you can contact your webhost to reset them.

    Thanks,
