Is it possible to change the link of the “View Cart” Button after adding a product to the cart?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

When you say “change the link”, do you mean the actual text or where the link leads you to?

    Thanks!

I mean where the link leads to.
Because of theme issues I have to put the cart on an article-page but in the backend I can only choose sites.

The default “View Cart” function will always take you to whichever page you have specified as the cart in your WooCommerce settings.

If you wanted to manually direct that button to a different page, other than the one you’ve set as your Cart, it would require you to write some customized code.

If you want to explore custom coding a solution for your site, I recommend checking http://www.codeable.io for skilled third-party developers. As you mentioned though, since this is a theme issue – I would check with your theme’s developer first to see if they will correct any problems their theme is causing you.

So there‘s no easy way to use a post-Page as Cart?

You can add the cart shortcode to any page that you’d like.

The page contains the [woocommerce_cart] shortcode, WooCommerce can load your cart contents. The except would be to pages that use custom templates or page builders that override the default WooCommerce functionality.

Right and that is my Problem. The cart doesn‘t work on site-Templates but on lets call it „blog-Posts“.
Therefor I‘d like to know of it’s possible to link the cart-menu-Button to this Blog-Post.

Hey @silence85 – thanks for the follow up.

When declaring your pages on WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced, only pages will show as available options, not posts. There is not a way to override that by default.

While you can use the shortcode on a post, if you wanted to have WooCommerce direct to that post it would require custom coding. Since you can add any “post” type content to a page, I would suggest making a page with the content you want and setting that as your cart.

Otherwise, if you wish to customize this, I recommend checking http://www.codeable.io for skilled third-party developers.
