change username to “display name”

    How do you change your username to “display name” in the message address field? I want to hide this data for security reasons

    Thank for answer.
    Unfortunately no, and buddypress support on this topic did not help. The difference is that the buddypress standard displays both “display name” and “username” in parentheses. In BP Better Messages, when selecting a user, we identify him as the “display name”, and only after selecting “user name” appears. Can this be limited to signing the user from start to finish as the “display name”?
    I hope I have well described what I mean.

    This is the problem itself, BP Better Messages is based on BuddyPress which is based on user slugs.

    Remake this thing is not trivial task.

    Hi @wordplus,

    As Raval suggested, can you modify to display only “display name” not “user name”?

    this is quite bad experience for users to display “user name” (i.e. users input “display name” but suggestion only shows “user name”!) and showing user name is not good for security.
