# Change URL /Permalink for posts

 * Hi all,
    At the moment I have:
 * Main page:
    [http://example.com/main/](http://example.com/main/) Category pages
   [http://example.com/main/category/category-name/](http://example.com/main/category/category-name/)**
   Post pages:**[http://example.com/main/%postname%/](http://example.com/main/%postname%/)
 * On my permalinks I have: /%postname%/
 * What I want for new posts is this:
    **Post pages:**[http://example.com/main/category/category-name/%postname%/](http://example.com/main/category/category-name/%postname%/)
 * **Well what I really want is this **but I don’t think that is allowed from what
   I read in the docs:
    [http://example.com/category-name/%postname%/](http://example.com/category-name/%postname%/)

 * /%category%/%postname%/

 * Thanks snowman, so how can I get rid of the /main/ part of the url for new posts-
   so it would be like this?:
    Post pages:[http://example.com/category-name/%postname%/](http://example.com/category-name/%postname%/)
