• Hi,

I recently used this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/upload-url-path-enabler/

to change my default wordpress upload directory to /files. I no longer wanted to use the upload structure WordPress comes with. I also unchecked the box in Settings > Media to not store my uploads in Years/Months format. However, the already pre-existing documents are still stored in that format.

I moved all those files into /files. I understand that the URL’s of these files and images will not update automatically. How can I update the urls to reflect their new location in /files?

Or does anyone have a better way of doing what I am trying to do? I basically want all files and images to be stored in one directory not “year/month/file.type” just files/file.type

    Thanks!

PS. I have used search and replace, but I am currently on localhost and my server tends to crash. I have over 5000 files.

I have also tried exporting the sql file from phpmyadmin and opening it in notepad++ to find and replace the /wp-content/uploads/”year”/”month” for each year and month. That does work, however, when I drop the tables and re import the database file, the some of the css settings change and look different.

My only goal is to eliminate the year/month directories of how my files are stored. I know how to do it for new files, but want to change it for old files too.
