Change to root from development directory (6 posts)

    I want to do the opposite of: http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

    by developing WP in its own directory, and then leave the WP files in the development directory, but put index.php in the root.

    Did that and it works fine, except that the "login" link in the Magazine Basic theme shows the old login link and fails to connect.

    Do I have to log an .htaccess redirect? Or is the a better solution?

    Anyone? There is probably a simple fix.

    If it's just the login link in the theme, you're going to have to alter that. Must be a function in the theme that looks for webroot and finds it but that doesn't take into account that WP is in it's own directory.

    If there is a better fix, let me konw. In the meantime I fixed it here:

    echo '<li><a href="'.get_bloginfo("url").'/wp/wp-login.php">'.__('Log In', "magazine-basic").'</a></li>';

    in header.php

    Changing get_bloginfo("url") to get_bloginfo("wp_url") should do it.
