I spent time reading other posts before submitting this but please be patient if I repeated someone else’s question…

I am a NOVICE and am using Go Daddy for my hosting. I have successfully downloaded WP and have used the admin function to get text on my website. The problem I’m having is that I would like to change themes and when I try to “install” the new theme, nothing happens. I fill out the FTP user name and password and then it “finishes” but nothing changes (on the WP admin side). I feel like it has something to do with the files that are displayed on the Go Daddy side in the FTP File Manager. It only shows the 2010 theme no matter how many times I try to install any other theme it doesn’t seem to transfer over. This is very frustrating because I understand very little about the programming side of things. Can you please help??

    Thanks
    Jaime

Are there any messages displayed at the bottom of Appearance->Themes? Any messages displayed during the “download”? Have you confirmed your FTP login credentials with your hosts?

Thanks for the FAST response!! 🙂

no messages display during the download. The top of the tab just shows that it’s “connecting” and then it just stops after several seconds. Never really says “finished” “completed” or anything. yes, the FTP login seems to work. I can try to call Go Daddy later today and see what they have to say. I thought I’d try WP help first because I don’t think Go Daddy knows how to talk to novices 🙂 I’ll ck with them and be back in touch if that doesn’t work. THANK YOU!!!
