Change Template Option Not Appearing!

Hi All,

This has to be some sort of newb oversight, but I can’t for the life of me get the option to change a page’s template to appear in the admin dashboard. I’m using the neoclassical theme, and have created a test “snarfer.php” file, exactly as it says in wordpress’s documentation.

I’ve even given template names to index.php and page.php. Still the option refuses to show up in edit or create pages.

What am I missing?

For reference, I’m developing the site locally on my Mac. Not sure if that makes any difference.
