Hi I installed CPT and have set up four new categories in products (woo)
These categories are shown in the side bar on the ‘edit’ products page.
But, When try to choose a newly created category, I see the message ‘no tags found’
How would I make these ‘tags’, ‘categories’?

The end goal is to add a woo search filter for four extra categories.

    Any guidance welcome.

    Best Nick.

@nicallen can you go to your CPTUI > Tools menu and the taxonomies tab, and paste the contents from the right side here?

I want to re-create your current taxonomies in my local install so I can see about recreating the situation.

Was able to successfully import those settings. Now I’m a little curious on next steps you’re taking and where you’re maybe looking at for these messages.

Is it when you’re editing the product?
Have you created terms for these custom taxonomies yet, or are they all without any?

Is the “No tags found” message you’re seeing potentially when at MYDOMAIN.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=gifts_and_cards&post_type=product and similar?

    Hi Michael
Yes it is when editing a product, then I see the message.
I have not created terms yet.
I thought I was creating categories, yet they behave like, and are labelled as tags?

    Best Nick.

If you’re expecting the category-like behavior, where you get the checkboxes and can assign parent/child relations, make sure you set “hierarchical” setting to true. Otherwise they will be more like the tag behavior you see on posts.

    Dear Michael

Thank you, you have solved it for me. Everything is behaving as I wanted. So simple, I love it. Best Nick.
