[Resolved] Change size allowed for logo image

  • How can I change the size allowed for the logo image.

My experience with wordPress is limited but i am a fast learner and I have created a child theme and have successfully made changes to the css and header files in the child theme.

I have tried a couple of different ways to make changes to the functions.php file that specifies the height and width of the logo area without success.

I appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you!
    Deanna

Try posting on the theme’s dedicated forum: http://themeid.com/forum/

I did look on that forum but got confused because there are other themes discussed there too.

Sorry about that, however all forums are marked and you can also post in our general forum section as well 🙂

    Here’s direct answer.

    Thanks,
    Emil

Thanks Emil for being so willing to help! I did understand how to change the logo image I wanted to know how to change the size of the image allowed. I used an answer I found on the forum for changing the size in the shell theme and it didn’t work for me. It created an error in WordPress.

But I uploaded the larger size image that I wanted and choose don’t crop and it appeared at the size I want it to be.

Will it be affected by an update or will it stay at the size it is now?

    Thanks!

You can change the size of the logo using CSS. The steps are as follows:

    1) Create your logo of the correct size using Fireworks, Photoshop or whatever is available at your disposal. This is necessary because the images get distorted if the size is not proportional when using CSS.

    2) Create the css code to effect the changes.

You didn’t give your site address so I am not able to give you the code but post the address and I will try to give you the necessary code.

    Good luck.

    Hi Deanna,

If you’re using newer version of WordPress, you can control and add pretty much any size of the logo, Responsive is supporting WordPress “flex” images.

Just like on the link above, upload, drag the cursor and “skip cropping”. This way the image will keep its original size (just like my Coca Cola example).

Custom Header will remain the same and they won’t be affected by Theme or WordPress updates.

When switching Themes for example, from one Child Theme to another, header image will “reset” to default logo and you can simply “attach it” back in.

And once again, for updates you’re good to go 🙂

    Thanks for using Responsive!

    Emil
