Change site URL and WordPress URL in Localhost

    Hello everyone!
    I have a question..maybe someone can help me:
    I’ve need to change the name of my website in localhost. I’ve tried to follow many instructions found on web, but didn’t works for me!

    My problem is that my localhost website is named: http://localhost:8888/sitenameold.co.uk
    and I want to change in http://localhost:8888/sitenamenew.com

    Someone could help me step by step?
    I’ve tried to add 2 strings on my functions.php …but doesn’t work.
    Maybe I have to change something else? (for example I’ve changed also my folder’s name, because was “sitenameold.co.uk” ..and so I’ve tried to change in “sitenamenew.com”). But still don’t works.
    If I replace the old name in function.php and also the folder’s name, return to work!
    So, perhaps I forget something to change in another document for the new url!

    Sorry for my english….
    Hope someone can help me!

    Thank you train,
    I’ve just tried to follow these instructions…and after that, my website didn’t work.
    Only when I replaced the old domain in “function.php” was return to work…but again with the old url.
    Maybe I do something wrong…or for localhost there are others things to do.
    For example…from these instructions can choose only one method..or use all methods together?

    I’ve been away for while. Have you solved this? If not, what system do you have? LAMP, MAMP, ect..

    Thank you so much for your interest and kindness to ask me. Only for knowledge I have MAMP.
    Yea, I’ve solved, but in the online version. I’ve got some problems with the Server Domain and I had to remade everything..so, I’ve started from the beginning and all is ok now.

    Hi All,
    I am new wordpress user, am using wordpress 3.7,php 5.4.9, and mysql 5.5. I have created my site [using Twenty Twelve theme] in localhost ,linux mint system. When i put the url http://localhost/mysourcefoler/index.php, it works very well. when put the url with my IP [http://xxx.xxx.x.xxx/mysourcefoler/index.php] in other system, which is in my LAN, only text is display vertically. Hope you all understand my problem, please give me the solution. Thanks advance.
