Support » Fixing WordPress » Change Sidebar Bulletpoint Color

  • Hi. I’m interning at a company, and they’ve put me in charge of tweaking their website. I have zero wordpress experience, so I’m a bit lost right now, trying to learn on the fly.

One tweak they’ve asked me to do is to change the color of the bulletpoints in the sidebar of the page to green. Is this possible? If so, how do I go about it?

Here’s the text from the widget:

    <a href="" title="About Us">About Us</h2>
    <li class="page_item page-item-40"><a href="" title="Our People">Our People</a>
    <li class="page_item page-item-46"><a href="" title="Licenses & Registration">Licenses & Registration</a>
    <h2></a><a href="" title="Our Solutions">Our Solutions</a></h2>
    <li class="page_item page-item-114"><a href="" title="Asset Management">Asset Management</a>
    <li class="page_item page-item-117"><a href="" title="Energy Management">Energy Management</a>
    <li class="page_item page-item-157"><a href="" title="High Performance Green Building">High Performance Green Building</a>
    <li><a href="" title="High Performance Work Place">High Performance Work Place</a></li>
    <li class="page_item page-item-161"><a href="" title="Integrated Facilities Management">Integrated Facilities Management</a>
    <li class="page_item page-item-169"><a href="" title="Public Private Partnerships and Private Finance Initiative">Public Private Partnerships and Private Finance Initiative</a>

Really appreciate any and all help.

You would change te colour of an element by editing the stylesheet (css) file in the theme directory or adding css rules to override the default css. Which is best for you depends on how the site has been made. appears to be down at the moment – I’m seeing a 500 internal server error message when trying to view, but would need to see the actual site to be able to offer any more specific help

Hey cubecolour. Thanks for the reply.

The server error came up while I was trying to install a plugin, and as a total newbie to wordpress apparently I did something wrong that caused the error. Grappling with that problem right now.

Anyways thanks again for your instructions. Ill reply to this thread again once I’ve got the site back up and running and if I need more specific help.

To recover from the 500 error, connect by FTP & manually delete the plugin which caused problem

Finally got most of the site up from the 500 error. But now, the Home page is not loading properly. The top menus appear, the corporate logo as well, but thats all. Any one able to suggest how to fix this?
