Change shipping class based on weight woocommerce

Hi all,

I know there are plugins that could resolve this but I feel like this should be pretty simply coding… I’m simply looking to insert conditions to override shipping class of an order based on weight or maybe also quantity. I currently have shipping classes to adjust whether or not an order needs a small, medium or large flat rate based on the products selected but I’d like to tweak this a bit aso that if a large quantity or weight of products is ordered it would up the shipping method accordingly if applicable (still using the most expensive applicable shipping class. I figured I could ensure this by adding some logic that says over 2# use medium shipping class and over 5# use large shipping class.

Anybody willing to point me in best direction without involving a plugin? B)
