    Hi,

    I’m importing a csv with just the user_login and user_email fields and I have a default role selected and checked Change role of users that are not present in the CSV? and selected a role.

    I have 3049 users on my site and 2577 users which are all existing users in my csv file and around 2900 users are getting their role change even if they are in the csv file with matching user_login and user_email fields.

    @jmgodin,

    Which kind of import are you doing?

    What do you mean by which kind of import? I’m doing a user import.

    If the import is in backend, in frontend or using a cron.

    (@jmgodin)

    It’s actually in the backend.

    I have just tested and it works.

    Not sure if there is some kind of problem with:

    • A big process that maybe is shutdown by your server
    • A problem with antoher plugin that is creating this bad functioning

    Just to let you know I tried disabling all plugins but this one and tried again and same results.

    Here’s my settings:

    Default role: Subscriber

    What should the plugin do with empty cells? Leave the old value for this

    Send mail : Nothing checked

    Update existing users? No

    Update roles for existing users? No

    Delete users that are not present in the CSV? Not checked

    Change role of users that are not present in the CSV? Checked

    @jmgodin,

    Have you tried recently? Maybe you were in a multisite and it fails then.

    Hi,
    I am having exactly the same problem here as jmgodin. I want users that are not on the CSV to change to a new role. I created a custom role specific to use for this purpose because I would like review the users before deleting them from the site manually. I also would like to run a cron job for this, if it works.

    When I import the CSV file, all registered users, including those on the CSV file and also admin, change their roles. I loose access to my site every time I import. I tried this multiple time using different settings in the plugin but same result.

    Currently I have 400 users but soon this number will increase to 4000.
    Please let me know if a solution has been found for this problem.
    Thanks
    Kifah

    I just did one more test and selected “delete users that are not in the CSV”. after importing, all my users were deleted regardless whether they were on the CSV or not.

    @kifah,

    What kind of import are you using? The standard import one? Frontend? Cron?

    Using Standard backend import by uploading local file.

    @kifah,

    I am doing tests and it is working perfectly.

    Are you in a multisite?

    Just tried this once more and still the same issue. Not in a multisite setup. Same config that I posted earlier.

    @jmgodin,

    This is working in many test sites and in other users sites with no problems.

    Maybe you have some kind of bad interaction with another plugin or code in your system.
