Support » Plugin: Better Search » Change results order on front end

  • How do I allow users to change the display order of search results in the front-end display “on the fly”.

While showing the relevant results, I want a user to be able to click a link to show those results in date order. Same results, just different order.

With standard WP search, I understand that I can add the orderby parameter on the URL. Is there an equivalent when I am using Better Search?

I found this article https://wordpress.org/support/topic/older-post-showing-first/, however it deals with changing the search results display order for all displays in functions.php.

You can’t do it on the fly currently – but I’ve had this in mind to implement at least for the ones where a user can use a custom template.

Thank you for your quick answer! Being able to add this function to our custom template would be a great new feature.
