    You can edit the text sent by clicking “Edit Comment” in the Administration Panel > Manage > Comments

    Except most weblogs don’t allow me to edit the comments that I send them. So they still end up with the trackback text that looks like crap.

    So I ask again…

    Can we revive this? I have the same question. He’s referring to the trackbacks/pingbacks his site sends to the target site.

    What file / parameter do we need to change to make the pingback a little more worthwile..

    Here’s one of my recent ones and it looks like it just took the last line of my post which was like 4 words….

    RE: trackback text, whatever is in the excerpt field is sent as the trackback text (up to a certain amount of characters)

    ok…. duh 🙂

    I never fill in my excerpts — I thought when an excerpt is required, WP automatically takes the first 150 characters or something from your post?
