• I want to change the page ID number of a page because:

I accidentally permanently deleted the previous version of the page with ID 1401. A new ID of 2105 was issued when I recreated the page.
I am using a custom flash menu for which the original file is lost. The link on the flash menu points to the old page ID of 1401 and so now when I click on the link it goes to a “not found” page instead of the page I want it to.

Is there anyway to change the page ID of my new page to the old page ID? Or another way to solve this problem?
    Thank you, Carolyn.

That would be a really bad practice. There are likely tons of entries in the database relying on that ID number (comments, taxonomy terms, menu items).

You could conceivably do it via phyMyAdmin with a search & replace but keep a backup!

I don’t understand what you mean by

I am using a custom flash menu for which the original file is lost

    .

If the menu is on your site, then the file must be around somewhere!
