Change of email > no more wp-admin. Help Please.

    I am working on a site today and changed the email address under Settings > General.
    I also changed the email address for the main admin.

    I’m not sure which is causing the problem, but I can no longer access the dashboard. What should I do?

    If I go to sitename.com/wp-admin nothing happens either.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Changing the email addresses should have no effect on the site itself.

    I didn’t think so.

    Ok now I am logged in but still cannot access the dashboard. I can see the admin bar on the top of the site, but when I click on it, it just brings me to 404 pages.

    Also, everything was working fine and then all of the sudden it could not access the dashboard anymore.

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    I just tried all of these. They didn’t work.

    Try asking your hosts if you have access to server error logs.

    I have emailed my hosting service and requested for these to be provided. What exactly do they do?

    They can provide details of exactly what errors are occurring and where. Most hosts suppress many of the error messages on the live sites for security reasons.

    I am waiting for them to email me back, but I do have some sort of error_log in my ftp folder.

    Start by renaming the wp-content/themes/mazine folder.

    Is there anything specific I should name it?

    The site just shows up as blank white for everything now.
