  • Is there a way to change the blue navigation bar on this theme. I would like to use custom css.

    I tried this but it does not work.

    .main-navigation {
    clear: both;
    display: block;
    width: 100%;
    background-color: #000000;
    }

  • Hi goodsuccess,
    You did good jog and found right spot.
    Here is what you should do:

    put this code to your Child Theme style.css file
    OR
    Install Simple Custom CSS plugin and put the code there.
    I’m doing this on my browser to find solution.
    It can get to some different behavior on your site.
    It can happen that it is not working.
    Then we have to look further.

    .main-navigation {
        background-color: red;
    }

    or

    .main-navigation {
        background-color: red!important;
    }

    Try to use !important property when it is not working.
    That property should be used just when nothing is working!!!
    here is a screenshot, it worked out here. Change red color to any you want.

    Hope Im helpful
    Cheers

    Thanks but I tried the following and it did not change color.

    .main-navigation {
    background-color: #656661 !important;
    }

    Hi,
    When you present code here put it to the CODE, you can do some bad behaviour here.

    it is needed to have space between background-color: and #656661 !important;
    Did you put it to the bottom of your child theme style.css or to Simple Custom CSS plugin style.css file??

    cheers
    @tahoerock

    I added it into the Simple custom CSS plugin not my style.css file.

    Are you running any cache plugins on your site as the code should be working fine, and I don’t see your attempts to change the color being overwritten by the default code.

    .main-navigation {
        background: #f00;
    }

    Hi GoodSuccess,
    As @themesumo mentioned, if you use any cache plugin, turn it off
    and also clear Cache of your browser.

    When I opened your site now, I see nav bar in red color as I sent to you.
    Cheers
