• Hello,

I need your help to change my WordPress Theme.
I would like to know if I could easily install the Rosalie Theme. I also hesitate with the Divi Theme. Could you please tell me what theme should be better and easier to install on my blog?
My theme is very old and I don’t have enough functionnalities.
I need to change but I have got 10 years of contents.

I should support the migration of the database. Or will some steps be automated? Is there no risk of data loss?
When I chose the theme, what are the procedures to follow?

With many thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards,

When you change your theme, no migration is necessary. Install, preview, and activate the new theme. You may have to rearrange widgets and re-assign existing menus to locations for the new theme, but that should be about it. Of course, backup first!

Ok. Many thanks for your reply!
I can install all the theme I want even if it’s an old version and WordPress theme?
As I indicate, I am not sure for the theme. DO you know these themes? What best theme do you think I should choose?

Thank you so much for your help.

Installing an old version of what? You should always install the latest version of anything, not old versions.

    I can’t/don’t recommend themes.

Of course I need to install the latest version.
But I ask the questions to know if there will have no trouble to evolve the blog with an other theme. I don’t want to loose datas.

Thank you so much for your reply.
    Best regards.

If you stick to “conventional” content types like posts and pages, and avoid special types created by the theme, switching to other themes will be easy. It’s OK to use themes with custom post types, but try not to make use of them. Should you make use of these, you’ll likely need to customize a new theme to make use of these custom types. You would never “lose” data, it’s still there in the DB. But accessing it can be difficult without custom coding.

    Hello,

Ok. Many thanks for these informations.
I’m going to choose an other responsive theme and see how it works.
Hope it will be easier and I ‘ll not have to custom coding.

    Best regards,
