Change my site with a plugin?

Ok, so here’s my site, its a site about Foxy Bingo

I like the theme but one thing i’m not a fan of is people seeing the blog as soon as they visit the site, i want to be able to add sort of a boxout/frame when the user visits that gives the user a overview of the site, without the blog style sidebar and then wither underneath that or on another page have the blog, so the home page becomes a static page and looks more like a website opposed to a blog.

Its hard for a rookie to do this with php and css and i was wandering if there is some kind of plugin that will let you maniupulate the theme by adding in frames/boxouts where you can accomplish this sort of thing.
