  • Resolved Visionary_Maniac

    I am using WordPress on a Linux Ubuntu server that I administrate that has my wordpress site on it and have tried to change the limit to upload files but am genuinely stumped.
    I have tried creating a “.htaccess” file in the root wordpress site (and in the “public” folder, just in case), and followed as many previous attempts at this from the support forums as possible but without any sort of resolution.

    Could somebody please point me in the right direction, because I have tried more things than I care to mention and I still don’t know what’s wrong.

    Thanks in advance

  • Have you tried using a php.ini file to set your upload limit file size?

    I had tried that previously, but it hadn’t worked. I have, however, figured out why.

    Previously I had modified the php.ini files in “/etc/php5/apache2/php.ini” and “/etc/php5/cli/php.ini” with the following:

    upload_max_filesize = 20M
    post_max_size = 40M

    but found no joy. What I realised is that I had not modified “/etc/php5/cgi/php.ini” to have the same, and that was causing the problem.

    Thanks for the assist in any case, Andrew =)
