I have an issue with our company blog. We downloaded V2.8 to run as a way for the company directors to communicate with the company employees. Currently we have only two users that can post in the blog namely the admin user and the company director.
My issue is as follows:
When adding a new post at the bottom of the page one can select, from the drop down list, the author of the post to assign to the post. Once the new post is published it shows up in the blog. If we go to the front page of the company blog it will show the new entry with the heading which is obviously the permanent link to the new post you’ve just added. When you click on that permanent link it will take you to that post in which you will then see the who the author of the post is.
I would like to know if there is anyway to make it so that you can see who the author of the post is without clicking on that permanent link that takes you to the post. At the moment, the only way you can see who the author of the post is, is if you click on the permanent link to that post and then looking for the author info.
I looked through the settings in the WP Dashboard but nothing there seems to indicate a setting that is changeable to make the author info appear on the home page as opposed to only in each post as you click on it.
I hope you understand my question and look forward to any replies…Thanks guys 🙂
You’ll need to open up a theme file and add a piece of code to the file..
Most likely index.php, you just need to add the_author() inside the loop.
Understanding the template hierarchy so you know where to put it…
