    Hi there!

    First of all: great plugin!! Love it!

    Can you tell me how I can change the link in the banner, which leads to the cookie-page? I wanted to do my own cookie-page and therefore deleted the one that the plugin automatically creates, gave it the same permalink and name, but the banner now simply leads to the homepage… Also reseting the plugin does not help…

    Best regards,
    Andi

    Hi @mardermolchii,

    Thanks!

    The banner link and page with shortcode are linked. To add your own link, you need to add a filter to your (child) theme’s functions.php.

    Visit this article for the filter: https://complianz.io/changing-the-read-more-url-on-the-cookie-banner/

    And change below URL for you own, add it to your functions.php and the URL is set. If you need any help, please let me know.

    https://complianz.io/cookie-policy/”

    Most themes will allow this through Appearance > Theme Editor or Editor. Otherwise you will need access to FTP and find your functions.php file in WP-content/Your-theme/functions.php

    Thanks a lot for your quick answear!

    If I do as you suggest, I get the following error: “The site is experiencing technical difficulties”.
    This happens when I put the code in the main function.php as also in the child… None of it works… :- (

    Hi @mardermolchii,

    Could you try this one:

    /**
     * Filter Cookie banner settings
     * @param array $output
     * @return array $output
     */
    function cmplz_edit_cookie_settings($output){
        $output['readmore_url'] = 'my-cookie-policy-url';
        return $output;
    }
    add_filter('cmplz_cookie_settings', 'cmplz_edit_cookie_settings');

    Maybe the editor changed something in the code. Let me know!

    Sadly, this also does not work…
    I tried to insert it directly in the php file and uploaded it via ftp, like this:

    Hi @mardermolchii,

    Did you change ‘my-cookie-policy-url’ to your required URL?

    regards Aert

    Yes, of course… :- (

    Any other suggestions? Can’t I edit it directly in the plugin?
